MPA’s Warranty Technique Published in the Archives of Surgery • 07.20.10

In a paper entitled Surgical Warranties to Improve Quality and Efficiency in Elective Colon Surgery, published in the July 2010 issue of the Archives of Surgery, MPA’s methodology for establishing surgical warranties was applied to a national sample of patients undergoing elective colon resection. The results of the study demonstrate that, using currently available data, an equitable warranty can be computed that rewards high quality, efficient providers without penalizing providers that treat higher risk populations.
