Dr. Pine to Lead Session at 24th Annual NAHDO Meeting • 08.26.09
Dr. Michael Pine will moderate a panel discussion titled “How to build multi-purpose/hybrid datasets upon existing data”. Panel participants will include Michael T. Lundberg (Virginia Health Information), Mari Tietze (Texas Tech University Health Science Center), and Christine Cox (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). The session will cover:
- Hybrid data sets focusing on the results of the AHRQ pilots,
- Merging health data sets from multiple sources in the absence of a single patient identifier, and
- Creating “synthetic” merged data sets that protect patient confidentiality but permit accurate epidemiological analysis
Dr. Pine also will facilitate a break-out lunch “Meet the Experts” discussion covering present-on-admission coding and “never events”.
The meeting will occur October 15-16, 2009 in Alexandria, VA. Click here for more information.
